What is Islamic Arts Society: It is a group of people who want to share the beauty of Islamic arts. The society organizes various art events including calligraphy demonstrations, arts classes and the annual Islamic Arts Festival.

What can I expect at the Islamic Arts Festival? You can expect to enjoy the rich tradition of Arts in Islam. You will see Islamic arts including calligraphy, woodwork, glass work, ceramic tiles and paintings from local artists. There will be slideshows and videos on Islamic art.

What type of event is Islamic Arts Festival? It is a fun and interactive indoor art festival for people of all ages. Demonstration of CalligraphyHenna (art of temporary tattooing based on mignonette tree dyes), Ebru (aqueous surface design), and other art forms is held during the festival.

Who may attend? Everyone. This event is open to the general public. People of all faiths and background are welcome.

When is the festival? In fall every year. This year the Festival is scheduled for the 29th & 30th of October 2016, 1030 am till 530pm.

What is the cost? The event is free.

Where can I park? On-site free public parking is available. Uniformed Police and volunteers will be available to guide you.

Is food available? Food is sold in the food court. Only cash is accepted at food booths. Outside food is not allowed. Food or drinks are not allowed inside the exhibit area.

How do I become a volunteer at the festival? Sign up here. You can help promote local Islamic artists, and mingle with like minded art enthusiasts.

Can I buy art at the Festival: Yes, but you will only be able to pick up the art at the end of the festival.

How do I purchase art at the festival? Cash, checks, Credit or debit cards may be used to purchase art at the festival.

Who are the featured artists for the festival? Many artists from Houston and surrounding areas will participate. In addition local school children will also display their art.

Where can I find a festival site map, event guide, or schedule for the festival? Festival site maps, event guides, and schedules will be available at the entrance to the festival and on our website close to the date of the festival.

What should I wear to the festival? Please wear weather appropriate clothing in case of rain or cold weather. Wear comfortable shoes. For visit inside the prayer area a head scarf is recommended but not necessary. It is also recommended to cover shoulders and knees.

Can I bring strollers, wagons, or wheelchairs? Yes. All areas of the festival are accessible for strollers, wagons, or wheelchairs.

What is prohibited on site? You may not bring in outside food or beverages. No unauthorized vending, sales, solicitations, or promotions. No weapons. No pets
